Wales Deanery (School of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education)

The strategic aim of the Wales Deanery is to commission, quality assure and support the education and training of trainees, hospital doctors, GPs, dentists and DCPs in Wales.

This includes the development of innovative models of education and training delivery, building training capacity and leading on postgraduate medical and educational research.

Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellows

Job Title: Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellowship - now 5 posts

The Wales Deanery is delighted to announce – We are able to offer one further Training Fellowship for this year.

Along with Aneurin Bevan Continuous Improvement (ABCi) we are offering an additional Welsh Clinical Leadership and Improvement Fellowship.
The role will be located within the ABCi Office, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Head Quarters, St Cadocs Hospital. Gwent;

Project Description: The project will be a negotiated with the Director of Aneurin Bevan Continuous Improvement Centre.

All specifications for this post remain as the Welsh Clinical leadership Training Fellowship post.
This is a unique opportunity to undertake the first of its kind in Wales, we are pleased to announce this scheme for commencement in August/September 2015.

Oriel Recruitment System

Oriel is of one the initiatives of the Medical and Dental Recruitment and Selection (MDRS) programme.  It includes the design and, now ongoing implementation, of a UK-wide recruitment system for postgraduate specialty medical, dental and public health training.  From December 2014 onwards, healthcare scientists will also be recruited through the system.  The Oriel team within Health Education England (HEE) continues to work with trainees, the devolved nations and wider stakeholders to produce a unified system and solution.

Developing Doctors to Deliver

The 3D Programme is a free educational programme for GPs, hospital based doctors and Public Health doctors.

The 3D Programme is provided by the General Practice Section of the School of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education of Cardiff University. It is designed to address the educational requirements of doctors who wish to extend their abilities in engaging with and influencing the service improvement agenda in NHS Wales.

Strong clinical leadership at locality level supporting local engagement and understanding.
